Expert Application by Professionals
With tailored solutions and durable coatings, we ensure your HVAC units stand the test of time.
The Importance of Corrosion Protection
Corrosion can significantly reduce the lifespan of outdoor air conditioning units, leading to costly repairs and replacements. Our advanced coating systems provide essential protection against environmental factors. By preventing corrosion, we help maintain efficiency and extend the equipment’s operational life. Understanding this impact allows HVAC professionals to make informed decisions that benefit their operations.
The Silent Destroyer
- Global yearly cost of corrosion is estimated at over R44 trillion, while South Africa is estimated to be over R130 billion with HVAC being a significant contributor.
- Studies show that HVAC systems are among the most vulnerable assets in coastal and industrial environments, with corrosion being a leading cause of premature failure.
- In the HVAC industry, corrosion can reduce the lifespan of outdoor units by up to 50%, leading to frequent replacements, higher maintenance costs, and increased downtime.
- Corroded coil fins and panels can cause a 20–30% drop in energy efficiency, driving up electricity bills and carbon emissions
- In some coastal South African cities, up to 70% of commercial HVAC service calls are related to corrosion issues.
Cost Savings
Investing in corrosion protection significantly lowers maintenance costs. By preventing damage, facilities can avoid expensive breakdowns and prolong the lifecycle of their HVAC systems.
Enhanced Performance
Our protective solutions ensure that HVAC systems operate at optimal levels. This maximizes energy efficiency and system reliability, providing both immediate and long-term benefits to users.

- Reduced Wear and Tear, delaying the need for costly replacements
Reduced Maintenance & Repair Costs
- Protecting components from corrosion drastically reduces the likelihood of leaks, blockages, mechanical failures & breakdowns.
- Less frequent repairs – emergency service calls, parts replacement & labour
Enhanced Performance & Reliability
- A well-maintained, corrosion-protected unit performs optimally, providing consistent and reliable climate control.
- Significantly reduced probability of unexpected unit failures, which is crucial for environments where continuous operation is essential.
Maintained Aesthetic Appeal
- Keeps the outdoor unit looking newer and cleaner for longer, which is important for curb appeal, especially in commercial or residential settings
Product Offerings
AquaGuard
Polyurethane Paint (4:1 thinners), Clear Coat Dry film thickness: 50-70 microns Airless spray The primary protective barrier on panels and coils. Its excellent adhesion, gloss retention, and resistance to chemicals, abrasion, and weather make it ideal for shielding metal surfaces from harsh environmental elements
RUST-X
Modified Epoxy Paint (85:15 thinners), White/Buff/Grey Dry film thickness: 4–10 mils Airless spray A surface-tolerant primer applied to panels. It toughens metal, provides strong adhesion, and resists water, saltwater, and chemicals.
TOPGUARD
Hybrid Acrylic Vinyl Coating (70:30 thinners), Custom colour Dry Film thickness: 50-70 microns Airless spray TOPGUARD is used as a final sealant, especially on coils. It provides strong adhesion to metals, is elastic and durable, UV resistant, and protects against a wide range of chemicals. This topcoat ensures long-term durability and maintains the integrity of the underlying protective layers.
How They Work Together
- RUST-X is applied first as a primer (where needed) to fortify and prepare the metal surface on the panels only.
- AquaGuard is then layered to create a tough, weather-resistant shield across the panels and coil.
- TOPGUARD is used as a finishing coat, especially on coils, to lock in protection and enhance longevity.
